This Saturday, Dec. 3, you can support fair trade, whittle your Christmas list, AND further the work of our Justice & Peace Committee by shopping from 11 to 3 at 10,000 Villages, 101 W. State St. in Media. A portion of all sales benefits our ministry. (If you shop earlier or later, your purchase may be applied to the event if you designate it for SJC.) Thank you!
Sunday, Dec. 4, is the last day to take a tag from our St. Nicholas Project trees in church. The long white tags are personal requests by residents of Stinson Towers in Chester; we hope to fulfill every request. Toys are distributed to children served by CityTeam of Chester; gifts of tea and biscuits are received by our homebound. Please return all gifts as soon as possible (wrapped or unwrapped, as the tag instructs). All gifts must be returned by noon Sunday, Dec. 11, for delivery. Thank you!
In this Season of Peace, inner peace may feel more elusive than ever! Learn how Christian meditation can quiet your heart, deepen your prayer, and renew your faith. Join us in church from 7 to 8 p.m. Dec. 5 and/or 12 with Fr. Joe Meehan for discussion and guided practice in this enriching form of prayer. Learn more here.
Bright lights, long lines and crowds can make visiting Santa stressful. The Ministry with Persons with Disabilities will host our annual Sensory-Friendly Morning with Santa from 10 a.m. to noon Dec. 17 in the Lower Church Hall. Enjoy light refreshments, optional activities and a holiday craft in a relaxed environment. Space is limited. Kindly RSVP to Beth Brady at email@example.com or 610-368-4669.
Pick up a beautiful, fresh poinsettia plant after all Masses Dec. 17-18! Several colors will be available while supplies last. Plants are $20 each (cash or check made payable to St. John Chrysostom). Proceeds benefit our parish Youth Group.
St. John Chrysostom regrets to announce that it has indefinitely suspended Al-Anon meetings on Saturday afternoon. Please click here to find other meetings in our area.
CYO basketball registration is still open for grades 1-4. We are starting to put teams together, so please sign up now! Games will begin in January, but we will have some practices in December. Beginners are always welcome! Click here learn more.
