Anointing of the Sick is a Sacrament of Healing that is still too often misunderstood as "last rites" or a ritual for the death bed. This is not the case. Unfortunately, this persistent misconception keeps many people -- including the dying -- from receiving the comfort of this sacrament.
Anointing of the Sick confers God's blessing and the Holy Spirit's gifts of peace and courage on those of any age who are suffering from any physical, emotional or spiritual illness or infirmity.
Therefore, families who will desire the anointing of a loved one before their death should request the sacrament as soon as possible. Please do not wait until your loved one is near death to request anointing, as a priest may not be available in time.
Individuals may be anointed twice a year at our Mass of the Anointing of the Sick or by appointment at the Parish House, at home, or in the hospital or nursing home.
Please call the Parish House at (610) 874-3418 to request an appointment.
