Cantors lead song at nearly all liturgies. Some also perform as soloists at weddings and funerals.
Cantors need the vocal qualifications to function effectively as a leader of song. A schedule of the repertoire and packets of new music are provided one month before each liturgical season. Most cantors pray and prepare for each liturgy individually, but rehearsals and/or recordings of specific music are available when the need arises.

Scheduling is flexible, depending on the cantor's availability.
