What is the mission of St. John's parish?
Our mission statement is this:
The parishioners of St. John Chrysostom are called to live out the mission of Jesus. We serve all our sisters and brothers, particularly the poor and needy, by generous acts of charity and by working together with all people of goodwill for justice and peace. We actively look to help those who are not practicing their faith experience a conversion that will restore the joy of faith to their hearts and inspire a commitment to the Gospel. We welcome all to gather for worship, service, and community.
But our parish logo (above) expresses it best: As Jesus modeled and instructed, we are here to lovingly serve.
St. John Chrysostom requires every parishioner's support so that we can remain strong and of service to our parish, our community and our world. We offer several easy, secure ways to give. Learn more here.

What is the leadership structure at St. John's?
Clergy and laity share pastoral and temporal responsibility for St. John Chrysostom Parish. This co-responsible model blends the gifts of both ordained and lay people in serving the needs of our parish.
St. John Chrysostom has had just six pastors since its founding in 1952. Our current pastor, serving since September 2011, is Rev. Edward J. Hallinan, MDiv. Fr. Ed is supported by a lay Parish Pastoral Council, a lay Parish Finance Council, and by other clergy and staff. You may contact any of us here.
St. John's is a parish dedicated to walking the walk of Jesus, serving the Lord and our brothers and sisters in many ways. The heart of our parish life beats throughout our many ministries of Community Service, Parish Service, Faith Formation, and Worship & Music.
From the youngest to the oldest, there is a place for everyone to get involved. You have a gift to share, and someone needs it.

That would be St. John Chrysostom (say KRIS-o-stum),
from the Greek Chrysostomos, or "golden-mouthed."
Our patron saint (c. 347-407) was a prominent doctor of the Greek Church,
a gifted preacher, and a rebel. His Feast Day is Sept. 13.

All of these sacraments, regardless of the child's school, are overseen by our Parish Religious Education Program (PREP).
Religious Education note: Children who do not attend Catholic school must enroll in the Parish Religious Education Program (PREP) in first grade and remain through seventh grade to receive their sacraments on time. This is an Archdiocesan requirement. Children with special needs may prepare for their Sacraments at any age with our Adaptive PREP. Please contact Patty Briganti, Coordinator of Religious Education, to learn more.
