'The natural environment is a collective good,
the patrimony of all humanity and the responsibility of everyone' (Pope Francis)
A committee of the Justice & Peace Ministry, our Care for Creation Team strives to remind us all of our responsibility to care for the earth -- "Our Common Home," in the words of Pope Francis -- and thus care for one another, especially those who are unable to protect themselves.
Our efforts are inspired and informed by the Holy Father's 2015 Encyclical, Laudato Si' (On Care for our Common Home), addressed to "every person living on the planet."
We ask parishioners to re-engage with the environment, learn ways to live more sustainably, and take measures to live in a way so that there are enough resources left for everyone.
